Jasmine Nightdreams is a unique and captivating album by Edgar Winter that showcases his immense talent and versatility as a musician. The album features a collection of ten tracks that seamlessly blend together elements of jazz, rock, and blues to create a truly mesmerizing listening experience.

From the hauntingly beautiful melodies of "Jasmine Nightdreams" and "Autumn" to the upbeat rhythms of "Tell Me in a Whisper" and "Cool Dance," each track on the album is expertly crafted and showcases Winter's exceptional skills as a composer, arranger, and performer.

The album also features a number of talented musicians who help to bring Winter's vision to life, including guitarist Ronnie Montrose and keyboardist Dan Hartman. I love how he voices all the saxes like big Band style after the scat section!. Yes One day tomorrow, Tell me in a Whisper and Little brother should of been singles. Don't know why they wern't? Just like "Diamond Eyes" from next LP. All # 1 hits in my book!

Edgar's Masterpiece after Entrance. 'Keys to the Kingdom' from 'Jazzin' the Blues' (2004) recalls his 70's melodic genius and melisma. Sooo very good.

@CraigMiller an eye/ear opener to hear all three cuts as one long song, which they are. This is so close to being a concept LP. And Sky Train (a soaring magnificent downer) sandwiched between two such popping jazzy upper instrumental cuts. Such solos on the Solar Strut. Wonderful chromatic stuff. Truly this is one of the great overlooked albums. Edgar's masterpiece. Every cut loaded with musical talent & greatness, wonderful solos; a mix of driving melodic funk/jazz classics and lyrical pop gems sung by a voice as rich as Stevie Wonder. And Dan Hartman's driving bass lines! Thanks!

When this came out, I already had the Entrance album, so I wasn't shocked like I was when They Only Come Out at Night came out. Great album!

I’m no expert but, I had a Marantz receiver, with the Sansui 5000 watt preamp, two Bose 501, and two Bose 901 speakers. This was back in ‘70’s. I’ll be 62 on January 3. Hell of a song, he’s the best. If there was one artist they said I could listen to for the rest of my life only, it would be him. My last name, is his middle name. Yes, I am Dutch, my mother was from the old country. I’m also from Texas, so I am biased. Rock ‘n’ Roll!!! Thank you, have a nice day!

I came here because of a recording by the Big Band of the late legendary Clare Fischer, of "All Out". Worth a listen if you are fond of this number. Yep, it's worthy of the title "Jazz" - well done, Edgar Winter.

One of my very favorite albums. So far ahead of it's time. Such variance in style, but VERY stylish. A few of the "pop" songs should have sold millions on the top-40 radio outlets. Why didn't the producers see this? They were/are such scrotum bags!

Reminds me of Gino Vanneli's rock jazz fusion from the same era. Love them both. Real music! Real talent!

Indeed - Their loss.
Too many people pigeonhole music (and everything else for that matter).
Music is there to enjoy regardless of its 'genre'.

Hard to say, Craig. Maybe too prog and the fact that a lot of people have "reactionary" ears and might not be able to accept the fact it's Edgar Winter playing jazz. Regardless; their loss.

Edgar might have been pigeon-holed. He's fantastic as a rocker and as a proggy/jazz guy, IMO.
