Review by Adam Spade

Boobs A Lot is the fourth studio album by the American psychedelic folk band Holy Modal Rounders. Released in 1970, the album features the band's unique blend of traditional folk and blues with psychedelic and experimental elements.

The album opens with the title track, a raunchy and humorous ode to breasts that sets the tone for the rest of the record. Other standout tracks include "Mr. Spaceman", a cover of The Byrds' classic tune, and "Mobile Line", a bluesy number with a catchy chorus.

The Holy Modal Rounders' irreverent and playful approach to music is evident throughout Boobs A Lot, with songs about aliens, drugs, and oddball characters. The band's unconventional instrumentation, including banjos, fiddles, and washboards, adds to the album's quirky charm.

The theme song of the glorious "Mortal Majority". Somewhere a Pope is rolling over in his grave.

Love, love, love this! I missed the Fugs and The Holy Modal Rounders live, but first saw Peter Stampfel live at Folk City in 1977 or 78 with the Unholy Modal Rounders! They had just come out with the “Have Moicy!” album. I’ve subsequently seen him with his other iterations: “Caca Caliente” “The Bottle Caps” and one other I can’t recall, all at Folk City. A million years ago. The most recent time I’ve seen him was in the early 2000’s at a joint way downtown below Alphabet City somewhere. He had a reunion with Steve Weber, who was rather snockered and couldn’t play for beans. Oh well, it was still a lot of fun. Just the two of them reminiscing!

Seems like this was The Show With No Name (Louisville, 1980s) version they used for a theme song. If anybody knows of a fan page for them, please toss me a link.
