Its been 20 + years since I owned my last horse, a Chestnut Arab stallion with flaxen main and tail. He was one of 7 ponies we had on the ranch. Never worked so hard in my life but I'd do it all over again. Living in a city I suppose has its conveniences, but now at 70 what it has in convenience it lacks in the joy of accomplishment and good people. Maybe I'm just getting to be an old softie. but have to admit "Yes, a horse can mean that much to you". He passed on some time ago but I look forward to seeing him again. When my time comes and the Lord calls me home, that stubborn old Arab will be awaiting. He loved apples. I sure hope there are apples in heaven. This song always has me remembering those days. The memory always costs me a tear, but the cost was well worth it.

Purely a beautiful and timeless song. I was around 11 yrs old when this hypnotic song came out. Murphey is a class act and has a heart as beautiful as this song. Times have changed and this song brings me back to a much simpler time in my life.

Those of you who love this song from when you were growing up need to share it with the young people you love. Don't slash what they listen to, just introduce them to something you love. My love for Mozart's music didn't come with criticism of the music I loved, just an open door to hear something "new" (1790s were waaay before my time).
