Darkness Remains is a must-listen for fans of classic heavy metal and anyone looking for a high-energy, headbanging good time. Night Demon has truly outdone themselves with this album, and it's sure to become a staple in any metalhead's collection.

In the wake of the new millennium, a millennium of socials, Internet, but also alienation and depression induced by the forced progress, plenty of people have gained future in those who look to the past. Now, American band Night Demon must be very nostalgic people, given that their brand of D#-tuned Power/Thrash Metal calls immediately to mind Iced Earth, Helloween and Enforcer, but due to the enormously dated and generic lyrical themes (not to count the strict nursery-rhyming), some have dated those influences on even older times, like Diamond Head, Angel Witch, Demon and plenty of other bar-band dinosaurs founded in the wake of the Tachter government. Whatever the case, the band's second album The Darkness Remains is essentially a collection of cliches and tentative covers (just see "Maiden Hell"'s lyrics to get the idea) played and produced flawlessly. "Dawn Rider" could have been come from a Bon Jovi album, while the closing ballad is more suited to Cinderella. Only Traditional Metal fanatics may want to dig this band, given the irrelevance of the hooks here.

Can't wait to see them live for the first time on February 8th. Old school metal has been my life since I can remember, and it's great seeing new bands being able to perfectly replicate that sound with passion.
