Review by Richard Wareham

Offenders' latest album, Fight Back, showcases their signature punk rock sound with a modern twist. The album is a collection of high-energy tracks that are both politically charged and socially conscious.

The band's lead singer delivers powerful vocals that are perfectly complemented by the gritty guitar riffs and pounding drums. From the opening track "Endless War" to the closing anthem "Fight Back", Offenders' music is an unapologetic call for change and resistance.

The album's standout tracks include "No Escape", a fast-paced song that tackles the issue of police brutality, and "Rise Up", which encourages listeners to take action and make a difference in the world.

I hear songs about bullets, bombs and guns
Militant protest the latest rage.
?Find yourself another home
hope it is the same?

The crowd has spoken and they scream and shout it
There ain’t nothin you can do about it.

Easy targets are always chosen
Lost causes are a dime a dozen.

I hear blind men raving and moralizing
Righteous anger is a strong emotion
This blood of wrath, is just a drop in the ocean

Ignorance ain’t bliss
Knowledge ain’t a blessing
Awareness ain’t a sin
It’s just a bitter lesson!

The crowd has spoken and they scream and shout it
There ain’t nothin you can do about it.

Easy targets are always chosen
Lost causes are a dime a dozen!

Walk on the water, turn it into wine
Five thousand people standing in line
Can’t feed the hungry multitudes
With ‘bread and butter’ platitudes.

Songs about bullets, bombs and guns
Righteous anger is a lot of fun
Rant man raves about moralizing
Prophesizing and fantasizing.

Ignorance ain’t bliss...
I know that knowledge ain’t a blessing
Awareness ain’t a sin...
I’ve learned a bitter lesson!

This is their original vocalist, mic buck, on vocals? I believe it’s the recording from 81 with Rockin the town but could be the reissue from 89 from Bitzcore Records in Germany.

It’s strange because Mic seems to be pretty educated and articulate with his words, whereas JJ was considered illiterate when he joined the band to quote his band mates. My point is that they went in a totally different direction with JJ and his style of “party, party, party.” Both were great in their own right but JJ was teaming with rebellious energy. Great share, thanks

I didn't know Lemmy played guitar with this band. He sounds killer here just like when he plays bass in Motorhead.

I knew jj Offender, that’s what we called him. We had a “good time” at my house once, Martha Mohawk it was blue. I hate that he died, because I remember when that single came out. And I remember I was living in a house in Austin that we spray painted inside and out it had a half pipe it started with three of us and it ended up with probably 20 of us and then all the people that spent the night and all the people that party there DRI played there I can go on and on the 80s were great and Austin liberty lunch etc.
